Choosing Life! Empowerment! Action! (CLEAR)! - Short Term Evidence Based Interventions for People Living With or at High Risk for HIV"
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
This interactive workshop for mental health clinicians will introduce participants to evidence based counseling approaches for working with clients living with or at high risk for HIV. The intervention approaches and tools covered in this workshop are designed to help clients develop skills necessary to maintain their health, reduce HIV and STD transmission, and improve the quality of their lives. These tools, drawn from the evidence based intervention entitled, Choosing Life! Empowerment! Action! Results! (Clear), have been proven effective in one on one counseling sessions and can easily be adapted and integrated into ongoing clinical treatment. Participants in this pilot training workshop will systemically apply these tools to clinical case studies.
Those who chose to participate in this pilot training will be asked to debrief with the trainers and APA staff to provide specific feedback that would be used to improve the workshop prior to its national dissemination next year.
